Reviews for Donzoko
Learning Japanese would be advantageous because of the menu hanging from the walls, but in the end Donzoko has been the best sushi I've ever found in London.
The location is pretty and the food is fantastic, even if you have to wait a little bit to receive it. At lunchtime finding a free table is not this hard, but during the evenings the same thing can be trickier...
If you love sushi, this is a place you Have to try!
Don Zoko is an authentic little Japanese restaurant on Kingly Street. I visited Don Zoko for the first time recently for lunch. Don Zoko serves a variety of sake, sushi, sashimi and japanese noodle and rice dishes.
As with most authenic Japanese restaurants in London the price of sushi/sashimi is prohibitively expensive (is fresh wholesale fish really that pricy?) so I had the katsu donburi which was pretty good to be honest and only £6.50. I have heard the sushi is pretty good here though.
Service was attentive, though our food was a little slow to arrive. A good option if you are in town and fancy some Japanese food.
From the Shochu ads, to the wooden menu boards, to the wild and colourful array of fish displayed- there's no doubt that this is a serious suchi place. Gruff service and simple surroundings shouldn't put you off though; the extensive menu and supremely fresh ingredients speak for themselves. Highly Recommended
