This smart Indian restaurant is based on the corner at the central junction in Herne Hill. It is more expensive than you might be used to paying for a curry, but is well worth it. The restaurant is spacious and elegant, with photographs of India on the walls and jars of spices on display and smart white décor, and the service is prompt and courteous. The food goes well beyond your typical “British curry” of a korma or biryani, serving less well known regional dishes from the subcontinent. I’d especially recommend the mango lassi (yogurt drink). All in all it’s a great restaurant for a special occasion. They also do takeaway.
