El Cantara is an authentic Moroccan & Spanish restaurant, the word El Cantara means a bridge or arch in both Spanish and Arabic and we see the restaurant as a bridge between the two cultures. Decorated with imported materials from both countries, we believe this gives the restaurant a truly authentic feel. The venue is made up of three floors, the ground floor with its Spanish beans, artefacts and Moroccan tables is an eclectic mixture of two cultures. The first floor has hand carved Arabic tables and artefacts is ideal for that special room hire. Finally the second floor or the bridge as it is commonly is a hidden gem, with low ceilings, deep red in colour and low seating takes you away from Soho.

Reviews for El Cantara

I went to El Cantara for the first time a few weeks ago. It is well located in the heart of Soho, and close to many theatres. The food, value for money and service at El Cantara were all of a high standard. The mix of Moroccan and Spanish cuisines worked really well. I particularly enjoyed the vegetable tagine and the Spanish and Moroccan flatbreads. My favourite dish of the evening was the baklava, which was one of the best that I have had. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was reasonably priced. I will certainly be eating there again.

This is a Spanish/ Moroccan restaurant and means that you can get food that you are perhaps familiar with but also food that is a bit different.

I had three courses here and thought that each course was an improvement on the last. Given a choice I would definitely recommend the desserts over the starters. The starter was fine but nothing too exciting but the dessert was great.

It was reasonably priced and the service was good. It is well located in Soho and is the sort of place that would be ideal to garb a bite to eat before heading to a nearby theatre. Well worth a visit.
