Reviews for Santore
Smells great, tastes great, really good dough, perfectly baked and good ingredients. What else?
Exmouth Market is a happening place on a weekday lunch time, with market stalls and numerous restaurants and cafes catering to hungry office workers. Santore is an Italian restaurant on this lively strip, and I visited one day for lunch with my work mates.
The restaurant has a relaxed feel, with smiling staff and a large menu. My colleagues all opted to order from the special 2 course lunch menu, whilst I, always the trouble maker, selected from the main menu.
I had the Rucola pizza, which had Parma ham, rocket and parmesan cheese. It was enjoyable, with generous toppings, though the middle was a but soggy. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their choices, and some people continued on to dessert too. I may have sampled the bosses giant serve of Tiramisu (apparently the waitress has a soft spot for him), which was a little too cream-focussed for my liking.
Having decided on an impromptu supper, we were deciding where to go when we chanced upon Santore's pre-theatre menu. Although the price of this lovely Italian restaurant put it out of my reach for more than a very special occasion, this was an offer not to be missed and we were not disappointed. The starters were standard fare, but beautifuly executed but it was the lovely pizzas, light and with an authentic choice of topping that was truly great. I have recommended this restaurant to friends, something I do not often do what with there being so many restaurants to choose from in London, but I will definitely be back.
If you are passing in Exmouth Market you have to stop at this amazing italian restaurant and try their pizzas. In a time where London is full of clones and bad replicas of the real italian pizza, this place definately stand out as one of the best italian restaurant in London. They shipped over one of the best pizza maker guy directly from Naples and you can find him working his magic on the Pizza oven every day and night. Ask for their specials of the day, always, as most of the times they have this incredible buffalo mozzarella imported fresh from Italy which is a real delicacy. Great atmosphear, relaxed and professional service make this place amust and a very, very good night out, or just a pre-night out heading in the swinging Shoreditch.
Deninately my favourite place in London.
We never heard of it but we were passing by and decided to have a pizza. WE WON'T GO BACK THERE. How people can even think that is the best pizza in London!!! The service was very disorganised: waiters attitude felt almost cheesy such was their eagerness to please and on the top of it they were making an incredible amount of mistakes, bothering us two while we were trying to have a romantic night out. Oversell was their MOTTO. We had to wait too long considering the time it takes to make a salad and a pizza. Also if it was a authentic Italian restaurant, they should know how to write the correct translation from English on the menu?! Think about it! AND TO FINISH WITH WE WERE CHARGED 20% SERVICE!!!
