Reviews for El Pirata de Tapas

We drove from North London to join my children who live near by for a most enjoyable birthday celebration last night. The food was really tasty and served hot without delay. The service was very good and the staff were very polite and onhand throughout the evening with suggestions and attention to detail. Would thoroughly recommend. Very good value for money and for anyone wanting a lively evening out.

El Pirata de Tapas is a fairly new addition to the Westbourne Grove restaurant collection. The restaurant itself is nothing special and has no real Spanish feel. My main complaint would be that the tables are far too close to each other and no matter how hard you try you just can't help overhearing your neighbours' conversations. Having said that, the food was good and definitly worth a try. The set menus offer good value and include some more unusual dishes to try. This would be a great place to go with a group of friends but not so good for an intimate dinner or any conversations you don't want to be overheard!

Worth a try if you're local, probably not for a date but great for a quick lunch, especially with the £9.95 set menu (2 tapas, bread, aioli and a drink).
The food is usually good but some dishes are a bit hit and miss. It's worth saving room for dessert though as they are delicious.
