Reviews for Kitchin N1
Hi, I went eating out there a few times now. The staff there offers a fantastic buffet concept.
This means that you can get a perfect selection of different cuisines (Italian, Chinese, Thai and Indian) and an excellent selection of drinks around an open kitchen, which is located in the middle of the venue.
As we went there, we took the great 50% voucher with us and presented it to the staff. So we really paid a small amount of money, but got a good value for it.
The whole family enjoyed getting together at this lovely place near by kings cross.
Best regards

Good Morning,
We ate there for my wife's birthday at the beginning of June. Fantastic food with excellent and attentive service. The menu has plenty of choice, even for somebody like me who has a fickle stomach, a pleasure to eat such lovingly prepared food. Thank you so much, we will be back

Hi there the food was nice... we go out from office once a month and decided to try this place.. it was lovley the first month in March 09... we had a fab time.. In April we went back the food was great as always.. service was good too.. THE TOILETS WERE worst than a public toilet in the train staion.. we complained and they said sorry etc decided to give it a go again in May the toilets we really bad yet again.. we decided to stop going there again as it was just so bad... I do not understand. We usually go on a Fri or Thur you would expect there to be a cleaner or someone to clean there were no lights in the bathroom and It was pretty smelly and disgusting. Once may be they were short staffed but twice not acceptable! Will not go again..
Very nice place, decor, surroundings, spacious, and good location. Food was very nice the person has a choice of salads, small snacks, curries, noodles, rice, and pizza! Service, unfortunately there is no service, partly because you help yourself to the food, and also because robots work for the resturant! One thing I did not like; they charged a 10% service charged - unless this goes to the chefs I think this is daylight robbery! However, it has a very nice setting, your choice of food can allow you to have a starter, main course, and desert (cake and fruit as well there), and its just 5min away from Kings Cross.
Nice interior but the food is just edible. Indian was mediocre but still the best of the lot, the rest is a joke, particularly Thai solely represented by a shamelessly horrible imitation of green curry. The food is completely flavourless from being constantly reheated the whole day.
I wrote a whole diatribe here, read if you care: http://niftynoshing.blogspot.com/2009/01/kitchin-n1-london-restaurant-review.html
Went to Kitchin N1 last Monday after being informed that if you book through their website (kitchin-n1.com) you get 50% off on a Monday. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experince especially paying £6.50 each for as much food as we could eat including desserts!
Ive been meaning to go to this place for sometime so evenutally myself and a group of friends eventually got together for friends leaving bash there.
The restaurant is really niceley done up, it certainly builds up your expectations on the food side. A lot of money has been spent here, the main feature being a large central kitchen where all the food is freshly cooked. There were around 30 of us and we pretty much had everything they had to offer, worthy of mention is the Chinese Stir fry, the indian chicken tikkas and fresh nan which went down pretty well. A great feature we thought was the live grill on the italian side where you got italian chicken parmazan cooked freshly amongst other a la carte items, not something other buffet restaurants do. The variety of dishes is good, cocktails were great and we really had a good time. The staff were ever so helpful and special thanks to manager for accomodating us on such short notice.
Beware the buffet, my parents always told me. And they were right.
Kitchin is a good looking restaurant, there's no doubt about that. Despite the glossy sheen, I'm wary of places that attempt too much at once. Indian, Chinese, Thai and Italian? Hm. Well, it didn't fail to disappoint. The food was uninteresting and strictly in the only-if-you're-starving category. The cuts of meat were the cheapest, the dishes were mostly filler.
What was really worrying was how ill my partner and I became after eating there. The food upset our stomachs quite badly, but we were prepared to put this down as a one off. However, a group of friends went this week and they suffered the same fate.
Health inspectors reading this: put this place on your radar, please!
My family & i were staying in a nearby hotel, we asked for good place to eat and were pointed in the direction of Kitchin n1. When we got there we saw a beautifully decorated restaurant with a central kitchen right in the dining area. The place serves chinese, indian, thai & italian cuisines in buffet and some dishes a la carte. Ive got 3 ravenous kids and between us we sampled dishes from all the sections. We found the food freshly cooked and tasted of good quality, the deserts were great and even a sweets counter if you fancy a cola cube or 2! The meal cost £12.95 for adults and £5.95 for kids - great value considering whats on offer and the fact its eat as much as you like as well. I thouroghly recommend this restaurant due to the great price and quality of food on offer. My family and i loved the concept and the fact it managed to keep my kids varying taste buds satisfied was a testament to the food on offer. The staff were really friendly and looked after the kids needs even though they were pretty full the night we went visited.

The doctor is legally obliged to inform health authorities who must then check the restaurant because a vulnerable person such as a child, a pregnant woman, an elderly person or somebody with low immune system (eg on cancer treatment) could be seriously ill or die.
This may find the problem (which could be food preparation, raw food contaminating cooked food, or a problem not cause by the restaurant but brought in from outside (eg seafood, ice, or unpasteurised cheese).
You might have allergies to spicy food or just one ingredient in which case the restaurant wrongly blamed might be given the all-clear.
If you are in a restaurant, hotel, or on an airline and are taken ill you want a record of what you ate, any bill to show the date and the doctor's evidence and the lab results, which if they prove you are ill immediately after eating at a certain place will help you make a claim or goodwill settlement for damages (time of work, whatever). The evidence of what you ate may in turn enable the meal supplier to claim against their ingredient suppliers for the loss of business and goodwill if the health authorities then check the supplier.
A hotelier I met nearly went out of business and was very glad to pay only the modest medical expenses of a pregnant woman (if she'd lost the baby he'd have been out of business from the bad publicity, lost his hotel and home and had huge damages, and he discovered that the problem was a cheese from a farm.
