Best Chain Italian in the Area
When I first started working on Baker Street we were regulars at the Pizza Express at the top of the road. Then for no apparent reason we switched to Zizzis. Probably because it is pretty much part of our office building.
But then we started to get hacked off with Zizzi because every morning we got smoked out when they lit their ovens and we've also noticed that the interior of the restaurant is getting a bit grubby. Chewing gum under the tables and paint chipping off the walls.
So we were delighted when Strada opened on Baker Street. In the space of the last 2 months we've been there for lunch 3 or 4 times and haven't had a bad meal once. It's spacious, but also well divided up so it feels slightly intimate. You can have a casual business lunch here far more easily than at Zizzi.
I've tried their pizza, pasta, lamb shank, pork belly and chicken. All have been well seasoned. Hot. Tasty. Speedy. I've made an effort to have something different each time and have a long way to go before I've exhausted their menu!
Another nice thing is the fact that they give you a refillable bottle of still or sparkling tap water. It's a great little touch that endears you to Strada far more than the rivals up the road.
It's very good, but it's never going to set the world on fire. But you knew that anyway!
