Reviews for The Brickhouse
i had the greatest 30th birthday at the brickhouse - the djs were amazing! also we got to see a wild acrobatic burlesque show and the service was stellar. as were the cocktails and canapes - really quality. such cute bar staff! overall value for the money was excellent and the private garden at the rear was perfect - we didn't have to go on the street and smoke. i am definately going to their next late night party this saturday ...
I was lucky enough to be taken to the Brickhouse on a date (Yes, lucky me indeed). You could walk past the Brickhouse and miss it. A small door off Brick Lane leads you to an even smaller reception desk where your coats are taken and you are led to the main restaurant. The restaurant has a small-ish floor area but the place is three stories high, with simple but stylish dark red and white decor. On the ground floor is the stage where the entertainment takes place, with tables dotted around it. The second floor has longer tables overlooking the stage, and although I did not venture there, the third floor apparently houses beds!
The food was, in a nutshell, delightful. For starters we ordered the salmon and scallops, both presented beautifully. For the mains, I chose the beef, and my date chose the lamb - both superbly cooked. The service was friendly and unrushed. The entertainment was a three man honky-tonk style band and was pretty good.
I came to the Brickhouse during the week, and I can imagine that during the weekends it can have an even livelier atmosphere. All in all, a super evening, and if you want to impress a date with some East End chic – this is certainly the place. In terms of price, I do not know (I was not shown the bill..), but could hazard a guess that it is around £50-60 per head with wine.
Went for dinner at The Brickhouse. It is very new and quite different, you feel like you're on a ship.
The food is absolutely fantastic - not surprising as the chef Matt Reuter has previously worked at a number of Michelin starred restaurants.
There were two acts on that night - quite unusual but very interesting. We had our table for the whole night and towards the end most people were chatting and socialising around the downstairs area. The beds on the top floor are great and the venue is different and will definitely be the place to go before long. Highly recommended.
