Reviews for Hamburger Union

We had tickets for a late show at Soho Theatre, after picking up the tickets we walked outside looking for somewhere to eat and found Hamburger Union. I have never come across them before but the menu sounded nice so in we went.

The burgers are nice, I had the Monerey jack and it was tasty, lovely bun too, some sort of doughy portugeuse thing, the chips were real home cooked affairs, a nice thing about them was they werent greasy, just really tasty. My partner had a Greek Salad, she said it was nice but too heavy on the lettuce and not enough Feta or Tomato(do authentic greek salads have lettuce?)

Overall we have to recommend it, nice ambience, fast service, we had soft drinks but you can have beers and stuff, a nice touch is when you pick up your cutlery they have jugs of iced water ready for you.

I've been here three times and I've found it OK. I had a double cheese burger, chips, and a ginger beer for £11. If you like burger and chips you will like this. It's not as cheap as McDonalds, however, it's much nicer than McDonalds and I'm actually filled up when I've eaten my meal.
Ultimately one makes one's choices on your finances. I can afford to go here rather than McDonalds, however, if I had the resources I'd probably nip 200 yards up the road to the French House for £40.

Located in the heart of Soho, you cant miss this place down Dean Street its pretty big with nice big windows and a fairly wagamama'ish layout inside.

Staff were unfortunately quite slow in here. I went with work we had about 10 people and we saw a waitress for about 20 seconds until they came to clear the table....they all seemed to be hiding out the back behind the service bar?!?

The plates and cups are plastic, luckily the knife and forks arent....long wooden tables and plastic plates really did remind me of being back in junior school, just without the plimsoles on.

Food was average, infact pretty tasteless, chips seemed to frozen oven chips.

Its not cheap in here either, burger doesn't come with chips so you're likely to spend about £10+ for a burger, chips and drink.

Not sure if i'd go back I have been twice in total.
