    Nice food...sh*t service

    I took my girlfriend there on Saturday night and has a nice meal. HOWEVER I was so so shocked that we were rushed out onto the street.

    One chap came over and said..."not being rude but can you hurry up and leave" I have NEVER been told to hurry up EVER.

    One of the best places on brick lane

    Every restaurant on Brick Lane claims to have been the restaurant of the year, and as a result many disappoint.

    However ou can always depend upon The Shampan. Really good food and the chicken jalfrezi is to die for.

    As endorsed by Jarvis Cocker, with a letter of thanks proudly displayed in the window. And Jarvis is absolutely right, the food here is smashing. As well as the usual Brick Lane fare they specialise in Bangladeshi cuisine not usually found on the menu and I especially recommend the fish dishes. I have had some really good meals here, totally recommended.
