Founded 1998 it has become one of the most popular Pizzeria's in London. The proprietors, incidentally both named Marco, give it the atmosphere that make customers come back for more, over and over again.

Reviews for Pappagone

It's a fact, this is one of the most authentic Italian Pizzeria's in London. With a lively team of Italian staff and an impressive amount of Italian families as customers, Pappagone is a little piece of Italia in North London.

Whenever you go (and I have been approx 10 times in the last 8 months!!), you will be greeted with a friendly smile, a 'ciao' and if you're a regular, you'll sometimes even get a hug! :)

The restaurant is always busy and you will be able to see the chef's crafting fresh pizza doughs before placing them inside the huge pizza oven.

The menu is vast and pizza's are large and their toppings are fresh and delicious.
You can also choose from a variety of equally fresh pasta dishes and my personal favourite - the seafood risotto. This is by far, the best seafood risotto i've eaten in England. Cooked with that distinctive Italian heartiness and only the freshest king prawns, scallops and octopus - this risotto may well be my achilles' heel!
;)

me and my beloved we went on Saturday to Pappagone. It was so busy... luckly we booked the table - I am italian and my love is English - he had a nice Spaghetti Bolognese with the house wine and my self I had a very nice Pizza - I also treated myself with a beautyful and nice italian ice cream...well the bill was not so expensive and the meal was nice - the staff as well was lovely and all around me I can see people enjoing the food and the company

I must say I really don't know what Sami's gripe is. She has rated three pizza restaurants "ok". I'm starting to think Pizza Hut is more her thing!
I was very pleased with my visit to this restaurant for the first time last night. I looked online and after deciding on Pizza,my boyfriend and I travelled from Essex to visit either this or La Porchetta. After looking at both menu's we decided on Pappagone and it was a well made choice. The service was excellent - right from when we walked in and a lovely gentleman greeted us at the door and shook both our hands - very polite. All of the waiters were most polite and attentive. The food was amazing. We both had starters (tomato & mozzarella salad, Calamari) for mains, my boyfriend had lasagne (he said it was the best he'd ever had at a restaurant) and I had Pizza Quatro Stagioni. Very tasty and so big I had to take some home! The food was evidently prepared with care and considering it was a Monday night - the restaurant was packed! I can't imagine how busy it must be at the weekend! I love the layout and seeing the chefs prepare the food. I have no fault with the restaurant and will definately be coming back to visit as I saw someone eating crab and that is my favourite!

Pappagone is a place that I return to again and again. You are always assured of a warm welcome. The restaurant is big, and nearly always full & buzzing (so many diners can't be wrong). Their kitchen consistently produces great pasta, pizza cooked in a wood-burning stove, and some excellent main courses including T-bone steak. Everything is fresh and made with top quality ingredients. The service is fantastic. When they added the gelato bar at the front, I knew my thighs were in trouble. Even if you're stuffed, you'd be stupid to skip the gelato!
I know I'm raving, but I have never had a bad dish there.

Recently I moved to Stroud Green and have been searching for a local pizza place ever since - I used to visit one in Southgate on a weekly basis and have gone, at certain points, 2 or 3 days running - I know that's REALLY sad, but I think I love pizza more than anything in this world.

Well, I found Pappagone and before visiting I googled to see the reviews it had received on a number of other (inferior to TP!) restaurant review websites and the reviews were generally decent so I decided to go.

In fairness, I only ordered a pizza to take away and did not have the full dine-in experience, if you will, but I don't think I'll be returning again. Pappagone's was just the latest in a long line of mediocre pizza & pasta restaurants that I've been to since living in London.

The crust was thin but not salty enough - there wasn't enough flavour to it and I wasn't a fan of the flour used. The tomato sauce was bland, and the mozarella used was cheap. The toppings were slim - and I don't like canned artichokes or olives, period. Restaurants should NOT be serving food out of cans - this should be a very basic tenet of the hallowed art of pizza making!! (I jest).

I haven't tried anything else from the menu - but if a restaurant can't make a pizza that makes me want to return for more, there is absolutely no way I will dare try a more complicated entry on their menu.

Sorry, Pappagone - spacious, family-friendly, and nice servers - but you score negative points when it comes to the most important part of your establishment - your food.
