We were a group of 3 guys who recently dined at The Balti and we were extremely disappointed with the experience and lack of professionalism and very shoddy/poor service. The restaurant was not busy and we requested a quiet table by the window and our request was declined. We were informed that the table was reserved, but in actual fact, no-one arrived and took the table while we were there. Reviews for The Balti

We ordered our meal and the food lacked taste and spice and was poorly presented. In fact, the waiter almost threw the dishes on our table and he requested that we make room on the table for each dish. The next problem occurred when our friend ordered one chicken dish but they provided two chicken dishes. Then, the waiter made a big fuss and argued that we ordered that dish. Eventually, he agreed to remove the dish for no cost. The ambience in the restaurant was shocking and unrealistic: -no Indian music, and no photos of India and no waiters in traditional Indian dress - we could have been in the local fish and chip or pizza takeaway! The two male waiters lacked friendliness and warmth. As if that was not bad enough, at the end of the meal, we were not given a hot refresher towel as other customers received! Finally, the only tasty food we ate was the free mini chocolates at the end of the meal. Therefore, we requested another chocolate and we were flatly refused on the basis that they don't have any left! Traditionally, when we go to Indian restaurants, the waiters thank us for our custom and they open the door for us. Again, this simple courtesy did not happen!
