Ransomes Dock has been is buisness for fifteen years and is still going strong. Martin Lam has created a wine list of serious acclaim. It is often thought of as a wine merchants drinking hole as they all know the incredible value for money available.
Wine aside, the food is solid and very well sourced. Shorthorn steak is the kind of beef that England is famous for and Chef Lam has had on the menu as long as i can remember (I've been going her for 15 years). The fish is always fresh and well cooked. The food is simple, not overly worked yet always very pleasing and with a thought to wines that may accompany. There are often nights titled 'Meet the winemaker' where Lam uses his connections to bring a winemaker over to talk and a dinner is hosted with several courses to match the wines. An event worth attending if you can.
They love children and on a sunday the place is bustling with a brunch menu on offer.
All in all a solid restaurant worth a visit.
