Reviews for Salt Yard

Favourite restaurant in London ... great place to relax and spend an afternoon ... brilliant food (the specials are always good) and lovely wines. You need to book in advance though ...

I must say i had quite a nice surprise on this place, the food was great, the selection of wines was excellent, the portions were appropriate to share without starting a fight (anyone said Barrafina?) and at the end of the night you have quite a good smile although this was at the beginning, seems the owners realized they had no competition and decided to rearrange the wine list, make the tapas smaller... much smaller, while keeping the good quality that is true.

Still the fusion tapas are very interesting in their own right and just for that i highly recommend to try, it gives quite a spin to traditional tapas.

Overall, still worth it but i wonder why ruin your reputation with such cheap tactics.

I keep going to check if they have realized yet.

This restaurant won 'best tapas in the UK' in restaurant magazine this year (2008.) I haven't been to every tapas bar in the UK but I can understand why. Great, cosy restaurant, superb Riocas on the wine list (bit pricey though) and delicious food. My friend said ‘the courgette flowers were better than sex.’

Not much more to say really, award winning and food better than sex…

I went back last Saturday night and sat down stairs for the first time. I didn’t know they had an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs at work. It makes for a great atmosphere.

The pork and cannelloni beans is exceptional, I could eat it everyday. Even the olive oil served with the bread is more delicious than other restaurants. The coffe is very good too, smooth and rich, hot and with a strong aroma. I want to go back already…
