Oriel Brasserie
50-51 Sloane Square, London, SW1W 8AX
Reviews for Oriel Brasserie
I can only fault it on it's bustling nature - so if you want an acre of space, this might not be your best bet. However it's well worth the odd brush of a fellow customer as the food is brilliant.
Great size and affordable procing (drink and two courses £25 each)
I went on Friday for luch to Oriel. The service was not fast. The fillet was very tasty but the greek salad was proably the worst greek salad i have ever eaten...
My main impression of Oriel was that it was rather crowded and noisy. Our table for two was squeezed in a row of others. The food is a little expensive but decent. Basically, a very Parisian experience (coming from one who lives in Paris...!)
Oriel is one of those up-market French brasserie in London. The decoration and ambiance is definitely one for those to aspire being in up-market venues. The staff is a bit snobbish but professional and efficient, as long as there isn't a full house.
The food is tasty but a bit pricey. I had the fillet steak with the bernaise sauce which was well cooked and tasty. However it wouldn't grab the top prize for the best fillet... go and try Le Relais De Venise L'Entrecote.
Overall I'd recommend Oriel if you are looking for a nice cup of coffee to have close to Sloane Square then go to Oriel.
