Reviews for 19 Numara Bos Cirrik

I have to say I really do rate this place. I've eaten in a number of Turkish restaurants in the area and 19 Numara Bos Cirrik always comes out on top. Busy most evenings but its worth the short wait for a seat.

Food-wise I've had a number dishes from the menu but today I shared a mixed kebab and a mixed pide.

Starting with the mixed kebab (chicken şiş, çöp şiş (small lamb chunks), Adana (minced lamb) and lamb chops) the Adana was juicy and deliciously flavoured but the best of the meats were the chops. Crispy and well seasoned on the outside, tender on the inside. Probably worth a full order. The mixed kebab is served with rice, onion salad, shepherds salad and the most delicious of all the salads, Izgara soğan. Izgara soğan is made up of slices of grilled onion, pomegranate syrup, turnip juice, and sumac (a sour, purple-coloured powdered spice common in Turkish cooking). It works a treat with both the meats and the pide and should not be missed. If they forget to serve this salad be sure to get their attention and demand it.

The mixed pide (sort of a Turkish pizza) was also delicious and cooked to order. The mixed pide was topped with minced lamb, fresh tomatoes, green peppers, cheddar cheese and herbs. Hot, fresh and full of flavour this was great to share with the kebabs.

Worth noting as well is a Turkish snack that Cirrik does very well called Lamacun. Again a Turkish pizza of sorts but with a thinner crust, fewer but equally delicious toppings and usually served as a wrap stuffed with salad. At £1.50 you can't go wrong.

All in all 19 Numara Bos Cirrik offers the best Turkish food in the area, if not London. Great food at great prices. Not much else I can say.

found out about this restaurant by simply asking the Turkish people on around about the "best restaurant around". i was guided there. the restaurant isnt that well presented(go to their new branch on the same road at no 194 if you are going there with your girfriend)
but trust me, their food is fantastic!

meals start from 7 pounds going up to 12 pounds.

my favorite meal is the seasoned ribs!

with any meal ordered you get salad, onion salad and sour pomegranate syrup onion absolutely free!

all their meet look fresh. if you are a first time goer get their small mixed kebab to find out which of the marinated meet you liek the most

i was there on 21/07/07. This is a Turkish restaurant with well known reputation and 2 branches.
The decor is expectably kitsch, including fake plastic flowers on the tables.
The main show is where the big barbeque (ocakbasi) blows a big cloud of smoke on top of the meat. The door needs to be left open for ventilation, so it can get a bit cold. Also it is good to consider that for the rest of your night, you will smell from the ocakbasi and people might ask you ‘where was the barbeque and why were we not invited?’... The acoustic is problematic, it all becomes a salad of sounds and it is better to concentrate of the food. The menu appears to be suspicious due to a dish called Spaghetti Bolognese, trying to make Turkish sounds. We ordered Humus and Tubule for starters, lamb beyti and mixed meat for mains. The starters were fantastic. The humus was a champion and had a unique Turkish taste- nothing like what you get in a Lebanese place. The tubule was also good and the interesting variation was that the main ingredient was tomato rather than parsley. It was fresh and accurately spiced. The bread which came with it, was cut into strips and was perfect for handing the humus and tubule.
Then came without any warning some extra salads on the house: awarded with distinction was a barbequed onion salad with parsley and pomegranate sauce- blessing to the inventor of this amazing dish! This salad came with a friend- another onion salad but this one was fresh and although delicious, made us thing about the future of our evening and our odour...
And then came the meat. This was the moment of truth- after a bite or two we agreed that it was good but not amazing. It seems that most of the meat was overcooked. The chicken was slightly dry and the lamb had some sort of chewy plastic texture.
The spices were great but I think the problem was the quality of the meat and the cooking time. The Efes beer was a good company with the food. Also it was nice to get a special moist towel after this intense meal. The Turkish coffee was exactly what you need to finish. The service was ok but varied from one person to another. We paid around £30 for 2 people. It is a good option for eating in this area but it is a bit overrated.
