Perfect for Business
Old style, perfect for a business lunch. For a starter I had Terrine of confit duck and foie gras, prune and Armagnac purée, toasted focaccia which was amazing. My guest had Baked Pithivier of quails’ breast and forest mushrooms, with a walnut and apple salad, sherry vinegar dressing. Yum. For my main I liked less, Roasted monkfish tails with baby clams provençale, braised fennel and aubergine crisps - it was a bit heavy. My guest had Pan fried Dover sole with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables (£10.00 supplement. We had a really decent Chardonnay 'Bernard Clones', Sexton, Yarra Valley, Australia 2003. But the wine list is rather expensive and at £48 that was one of the cheaper ones. A la carte is £60 for three course. Exactly how you'd expect it to be, but I wasn't left raving about the place. The service was spot on though, they even have a waiter just to cart the champagne trolley around, so of course, I had to oblige and have some pink champagne.
