15 Westland Place, London, N1 7LP

Fifteen is the brainchild of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. The restaurant takes its name from the fifteen teenagers that Oliver enlisted to train as chefs and run his kitchen. All profits gained will go to charity, and a new group of fifteen young people will be trained each year. The food on offer is naturally Oliver's trademark brand of Mediterranean cuisine, including meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes.

Reviews for Fifteen

Those who know me will know that I am extremely interested in food (both the cooking and the eating of). So visiting Fifteen was a real treat. I wouldn't usually spend this much in a restaurant but it was a special occasion - and it was a perfect choice, a memorable meal we were talking about for weeks afterwards. We ate downstairs in the restaurant proper (apparently the trattoria upstairs is cheaper and worth trying). The six course tasting menu (with two choices per course, plus a vegetarian version) costs 60 quid and you can also opt for a 40 quid 'wine package' which means that with each course you get a glass of wine specially selected to go with the food you've ordered (for us this included champagne with our starter, various red and white wines, port with the cheese and a dessert wine at the end - so actually not bad value at all). The six courses (bread and olives, starter, second starter, pasta, main, cheese, dessert, followed by coffee) were all completely delicious - highlights included 'jamie's fantastic salad' (including honey roast figs, buffalo mozzarella, rocket, serrano ham and almonds), the beef carpaccio with beetroot and horseradish, seared scallops with lime and coconut, and a melt-in-the-mouth gnocchi with langoustines and crab. Yum yum yum.

The service was absolutely excellent, the food was top quality and beautifully presented, and the wine was fantastic.

I would definitely visit again for a special meal. You usually need to book a few weeks in advance.

Mmm. The food does sound good. At no point does the wine sound good value £40 per bottle - just my bugbear. Why is the wine always so damn pricey?

I have always avoided this place what with the staff of 'not trained' chefs they found on the street and its location.

Hazzabout you MAY have changed my mind.
