Reviews for Maroush V

We were told the heating was broken, and as such we had to sit in a very cold restaurant. Unfriendly service. Plenty of good food, but not worth the £100 plus bill.

I have never in my life been more shocked at such bad service. We arrived fairly late, myself and 4 friends only to be treated like dirt. For goodness sake,in the tough economic times if you go to a restaurant wanting to spend your hard earned money, you would think they would actually welcome you.
Firstly, the restaurant was empty with at least 5 waiters standing around doing very little. We get greeted by a very blunt question.....Are we having starters??Ummm no we didnt think so. Then we cannot sit at a table. But the entire restaurant is empty we say.....it doesnt matter. If you dont have starters, you cant sit at a table.
That should have been a sign for us to run for the hills. But we were hungry. So after being shoved into a tiny corner by the bar and some menus thrown in front of us, we tried to beg for a table once again.Alas, no luck. And then things got even worse. There was a table next to us where a couple was seated. And because we were squashed liked sardines, one of my friends' seats kept on banging into the couple's chairs. Next thing, I know the couple have picked a fight with us......and we get very promptly 'thrown out'. Oh but wait........I nearly forgot the most important bit. The smallest female of our party then gets manhandled by the doorman and told that somebody has to pay for our food.....yes the food we hadnt even seen let alone tasted.
I am still in shock over the whole incident. All I can say is stay clear of this place at all costs!!!!!

Maroush V is just off Oxford Street near Debenhams. The Maroush chain of restaurants never disappoint and I have been a regular at a number of their branches. With friendly service, a lively atmosphere and space, this is a great venue for parties (small or large) or meetings.

I am a big fan of the meze (cold or hot) and often do not order a main course. The olives, breads, salads and fresh juices are excellent. Moutabel is one of my favourites here (a roasted aubergine dish with a texture similar to that of houmous) and few restaurants make it better than Maroush. The also caters both vegetarians and non-vegetarians well, though there are less main course options for vegetarians. It has been and still is one of the best Lebanese restaurants in London.

Its a nice resturant and the food was nice but i had booked online and requested a quiet spot ideally on the mezzanine level...but when we go there we were told that area was only open in the evenings and we were seated downstirs in the middle of the resturant. its not a huge place so we was a bit loud.

Food was really good, pleased that it was halaal. The staff were very friendly but had a tendency to stand around the till point and chat amoungst themselves.

Not sure if i would go again though, might try one of the other Maroush places for comparrioson.

Maroush V never disappoints. I've been here more times than I can remember. It's a part of a chain of Lebanese restaurants each slightly different with varying menus. This one has to be my favourite.

As with any Lebanese restaurant you can fill up on the mezze alone! And Maroush V has a great variety of hot and cold starters. The fresh juices are delicious as well as the Ksara Lebanese wine. The main courses are a treat of their own my favourite is the grilled tiger prawns. They are HUGE! And so fresh.

I've been to a lot of Arabic parties here with friends and family. These are usually held in the downstairs restaurant. For this a set menu is offered and this varies between £20-£35 depending on which one you choose and again on the time of year (Christmas is very busy with business parties).

In my view two of the best things about Maroush V are the service and the entertainment. Service never fails to impress me, the manager is very professional as are all the waiters.

The entertainment is top class. We always have a good time there. They have 4 live bands/singers on the weekends as well as 2 or 3 belly dancers. There is a small dance floor for everyone to amuse themselves. Good, old fashioned, silly fun.

Great for group bookings over dinner downstairs or for business/casual lunches. Good location just off Oxford St means its a nice place to pop to after shopping/work.

Very good food. One of the best lebanese in London.
Try the real lebanese cooking and not only the traditional mezze.
