Of all the restaurants in Ealing, this Chinese holds a special place in our hearts, because this is where Chris and I got engaged :)

Amazingly, after all these years it is still here, and still under the same management, which tells you all you need to know about the quality of the food and service. This isn’t a “cheap and cheerful” Chinese restaurant – the extensive menu includes such delicacies as lobster, the décor is cool and understated, and prices are above average for Chinese meals. But in my view it is well worth the extra, because you can be pretty sure of enjoying a leisurely evening with attentive service and good quality food.

We’ve been coming here so long that nowadays we steer clear of the (very good) set meal options and instead put together our own selection. The mixed hors d’oeuvres platter (seaweed, prawn toasts, crab claws etc) is excellent, as is the crispy duck. I also like the spicy Szechuan dishes. We rarely fit in a dessert, and to be honest these aren’t usually a strength of Chinese restaurants in my view, but if you do have room the toffee apples are pretty good!

Hmmm...perhaps I shouldn't have ignored this restaurant for the 4 years I lived nearby - sounds good!
