Reviews for Ikeda

This is the place where I had my best Sashimi in London so far...

It is expensive but worth it if you are benchmarking sushi places...

As pointed out by many other people the sushi and sashimi at Ikeda is among the best in London. The place is pretty simple and spartan, but if you want a fancy and glamourous place just go to Nobu... if you want great sushi and reasonable prices go to Ikeda.
The waitresses are lovely and professional.
The only odd thing is that when I called to reserve a table the woman remind me that the minimum spend per person is £30... strange either because it was the first time I heard it and also because you can hardly stay below that threshold anyway.
The bill... £110 for one delicious shrimp tempura to share, a portion of black cod and an amazing bowl of rice with a chef selection of fish of the day and a nice bottle of Chardonnay. Not bad considering the overall quality and the pleasant night out. Great value for price if compared to Ubon in Canary Wharf.
Will definitely be back again.

Ikeda is by and far the best sushi in all of London (if not Europe). The fish is beyond fresh, the service is impeccable. Absolutely amazing.

I read this place to be around £45 per person? Can you confirm that? Anyway all the reviews I read talk about amazing food, so I'll give it a go anyway!

I've been lucky enough to be invited to Ikeda by my friend Francesca and her mum, who's japanese! That was awesome as I had the chance to try japanese dishes I never tried/heard of before and the quality of the food at Ikeda is excellent. Ikeda is actually a nice and small restaurant very close to Claridge's. A lot of Japanese expats go there regularly, and that's a very good sign ;-) They have a tiny sake bar, thenthe sushi counter and a small restaurant beyond. They do all traditional japanese dishes and the sushi is a real treat!Fish is very very fresh...it melts in your mouth...
The owner is a very nice lady. It can be a bit pricey.
