    Don't eat...dance!

I was surprised to find out that this venue was also a restaurant. I only knew it as a more 'respectable' latin dance venue than the others. Thus, I have nothing to add about the food. But, these boys really know how to make a drink: no shot glasses are used for laborious measuring!

The crowd is friendly and lookin' good, and the music is exactly what you would want on a Friday night after midnight. And, if all goes well, Pepe's is conveniently across the street to continue the party til morning. (Or, so I hear :-)

    A bit of a shame

Great place indeed. The tapas were really good, although as Walid says the selection not that extensive. I guess that is not such a bad thing, as in most Tapas places you need a notebook to keep tabs on what you're ordering, especially when there is a group of you and ordering becomes a logistical nightmare.
So the food was great, the company great, but as you can tell from the title I was left a bit wanting. The reason being the dancer. The moves were there, the hole' was there, the funny looks (you know the put your chin on your chest and look up in the ceiling) were there...the only problem was the dancer was a sweaty Spanish bloke. Well meaning and really into it, but a bloke nonetheless. I was informed at the night that flamenco is also just a man's dance, but a bit of Andalusian beaty would have made all the difference. I'll have to check next time before booking.
The card came in very handy, the staff were very friendly and helpful so a well deserved four stars.

    Flamenco Restaurant
    Current
I've often passed through Hanway Street, in order to avoid the hordes of shoppers between Oxford Street and Regent Street, and noticed Costa Dorada with its sign of live flamenco. A few nights ago Sokratis and I decided to have dinner with another entrepreneur and I decided this was my opportunity to find out more about Costa Dorada. When you enter the restaurant you see a bar area with some tables and comfy chairs where people sat, sipping their drinks and enjoying conversations. The room was not too dimly lit giving an impression of warmth. The restaurant itself is spacious and quite elegant. In terms of choices you have tapas or a menu from which you can get one of my favourite dishes... a paella.

The tapas selection wasn't very extensive, but what it lacked in choice it made up in quality. The tapas where quite nice.. freshly cooked as opposed to microwaved as some other tapas places. The list of wines was good and we ordered a Chiora.

Now just for the restaurant itself and the food I would have given this place a 3 star and maybe a 4 star. However shortly after 22:00 2 Spaniards took to the stage and started playing Flamenco music with a third one dancing on the wooden podium. The music was excellent and the Flamenco dancer danced very well pounding his feet at incredible speeds creating a tempo that accompanied the guitarist. My only regret was having dinner with my friends instead with a girlfriend. Sorry guys ;-)

In addition to a great night we only paid 50% of the food bill thanks to the TrustedPlaces card ahhh what a great night ;-)
