Good for a cheap lunch
If you work in the area or are looking for somewhere cheap to eat after visiting the British Museum, I would be hard-pressed not to recommend this restaurant to you - while it isn't fabulous by any means, and the service was lackadaisical and terribly disorganized, the 2 course meal at 6.45 was an absolute bargain and reason enough to go there.
I had pad thai and spring rolls - not the most adventurous combination but a good bellwether to gauge the food; initially I felt that the portion might be small (ignoring the fact that the meal was so cheap), but the 3 finger-sized spring rolls and healthy portion of noodles were enough for me to leave the restaurant satisfied until dinnertime. The food was fresh and flavourful - and while it wasn't the best pad thai I've ever had, I left the restaurant very pleased.
As a side note, I quite liked the large collection of Thai novels for patrons to read - if you can read and understand Thai, that is. Most of the clientele were either nearby office workers, or parents and their children (on half-term) who had just been to the Museum. The seating, while adequate, can be tight, but if you're there as part of the lunch crowd, it is nothing to fret over as you'll be out of the restaurant in under 35 minutes.
