Reviews for Royal China

There are many places to eat Dim Sum in London and there have been for at least as long as I was a kid and my parents used to drive to China Town every weekend for Sunday Dim Sum with friends and family.

Royal China Westferry is part of the Hong Kong china of restaurants. In the same way as the others, it is perhaps one of the more dressed up Chinese restaurant establishments in London and as well as Dim Sum it does serve a full "A La Carte" menu with authentic dishes. Unlike the others, in the summer you also get the chance to dine Al Fresco and it is often quicker to get a table outside because being exposed on the riverside, it can get very windy and suddenly chilly.

Dim Sum here is fresh and as quick as it should be and all the standard six or seven dishes you might order for Dim Sum are good, although not great. The staff don't apply too much pressure for you to leave and it never seems to be quite as busy as those in central London.

Worth a Saturday or Sunday visit although be warned it is slightly more expensive than others, and yes as with all proper Chinese restaurants, Dim Sum is a brunch/lunch type meal and is not served in the evening.

Good to know! The Bayswater one is always so busy. I must check this one out.

This place is within walking distance from where we are staying. Thankfully we pre-booked and was told that we could only have seating outside as they fully booked. Upon arrival, when they saw that we had a small child with us, they somehow made some space available inside for us as it was quite a windy day. How thoughtful!

The whole atmosphere is just superb. It has a nice posh feel to it. The food arrived pretty quickly and was just absolutely delicious. The waitress came back a couple of times to make sure that all is in order and that we are happy with the food... something just not seen in other Chinese places these days...

Situated a 5-10minutes away from Canary Wharf station, a very nicely laid out place and pretty good service. Really nice food, loads for vegetarians as well as meat eaters, really good food and a very large menu. The only let down is the price which is pretty expensive especially if you have a wide range of dishes. The takeaway service is not so good with a 11am order delivered at 2pm one time and all the wrong items delivered and some missing so dine in is recommended. For a nice posh Chinese/Oriental, this is the place to go but you will end up spending quite a bit so be warned!

Had two wonderful experiences here, lunch and dinner. It can get very busy at lunch time due to the office-folk descending on the place. It can be very nice to sit outside on the riverbank, as that entire area looks great.

Lunch menu was very varied and interesting, staff were helpful while we attempted to choose dishes.

For dinner, I took a few of my friends for a birthday party. They put up with us for hours, and we made our way through each section of the menu at a steady pace. Food was fresh, delicious and the decor just added to the overall effect. Dinner was also a quieter affair (but that said, it was just after christmas) than lunch, but nevertheless I would always go here again.

Seamlessly, it caters to all audiences, I am very impressed.

Dim Sum appears to be the new sushi in London. But rarely is it done well or as authentically as here.

Gaudy Hong Kong style interiors complement an innovative dim sum list. The specials are particularly good.

The staff are great with kids. Very child friendly

was there for a dim sum feast!
great dim sum- fresh!
WARNING- I think dim sum are made only until after noon or so- check.
cool revolving tables which are also good if you want to take 360 mobile video shots. Great value for money.

it looks as if itd be fairly easy to find if you were on your way down, looks like a beautiful place.

Dim sum is all the rage these days but most of the Western-style chains don't get it right. However, Royal China do and as a result it is sumptuous here. Keep an eye out for the specials.

This Royal China, unlike its counterparts in central London, also has the advantage of being able to eat outside overlooking the River in summer, which makes it that little bit more enjoyable.
