    Asian Fusion in Clerkenwell
    Current
"A cicada is any of several insects of the order Hemiptera, suborder Auchenorrhyncha, in the superfamily Cicadoidea, with small eyes wide apart on the head and usually transparent, well-veined wings" - Wikipedia

Luckily insects where not on the menu at Cicada but tasty and spicy Asian fusion that draws on Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai and Japanese influences.

Inside the place gives out this trendy and modernist look and feel to it with its large windows giving it a spacious feeling.

I went to have dinner there with one of my best friends to catch up. Whilst the place was lively and buzzing with trendy, young punters of Clerkenwell we still managed to hear ourselves talk which was a good thing.

For starters we shared a chilli-salt squid Dim Sum that was incredibly tasty and not too spicy. For main dish (pictured) I had a beef steak with some kind of chinese salt and vegetables. The steak itself was tender and well cooked however there was too much salt on it for me to really enjoy it. My friend had a kind of vegetable curry which even she had trouble with the spice.

So overall I think it was a tad expensive for the food we had. If my friend's curry was a little bit less spicy and my beef slightly less salty it would have had potentially an extra star on its rating.

A lively restaurant/bar, serving up some good cocktails and reasonably priced. The cuisine is a mix of thai, vietnamese, chinese & Japanese, the food is excellent! Its a modern place, good atmosphere, with a private function room downstairs for parties. Nearest station is Farringdon....
