Medcalf is great as it does not just serve as a restaurant, it is a great place to go for a drink as well - I recommend the jugs of Caipirinha's!

I love Medcalf... I love Medcalf because I love and pray to the lord of the "bavette". All you francophones out there will understand what I mean, but for those of you who are not graced with the pleasure of speaking French, a "bavette" is known as the "flap steak" which comes from the flank cut of beef. Now your traditional bavette is usually a small to medium sized beef steak that melts in your mouth and is incredibly tender.... but no not at Medcalf, yes it does melt in your mouth and yes it is incredibly tender but it is not a small to medium piece of meet but a huge piece of bavette that even a grown man like myself had trouble finishing. I did finish it though! You can see the picture I've taken before I attacked the beast!

Ok away from the bavette for now, the Medcalf is an award winning independent bar and restaurant situated in a converted turn of the century butchers shop.

Albert Medcalf opened his butchers shop in 1912 and became renowned for his top quality Angus beef, pike, wild salmon and game alongside the usual meats and poultry. And I can confirm that the present day Medcalf has kept that tradition in providing such beautiful high quality Angus beef.

All the other ingredients you eat at Medcalf are super fresh thus ensuring that your eating experience is a truly memorable one.

The staff is super friendly and the location is ideal. Just one word for you go there and pray to the lord of the bavette!

Now that sounds scrumptious. Will be sure to go there soon and try it out to myself. I too pray to the lord of Bavette (which I thought was called "Skirt" in english)
