Reviews for Chez Kristof

we had a fantastic table meal here recently, the place was full which is always a good sign! The food was quite simply fantastic and beautifully presented. Slick modern interior with some wonderful artwork and lights, definitely one for impressing your guests; bill (with ample food and wine) was £55 per head. Looking for a reason to return - soon.

This French-inspired restaurant offers a great alternative to The Grove a few meters away. The menu is more elaborate, finer, richer... And the ambience is more of a restaurant than its neighbour. We really like going down there especially since the prices are quite acceptable for the kind of food and service you get. The design of the restaurant is also enjoyable, making a great cosy and quiet mood. My best choice in the area. Nice professional service. You can also enjoy a nice brunch at the delicatessen section on their terrace.

Chez Kristof is located a little of the beaten path in Hammersmith. It specialises in regional French cooking, and the menu had quite a seafood leaning when we dined there. Service was mostly friendly, particularly the lovely French waitress whose English wasn't great (so she told us), but her charm made up for any language issues.

Four of us dined there one night, to farewell a friend who was moving overseas. We chose to sit on the terrace at the front of the restaurant….this proved to be a mistake as the canvas deck style chairs were extremely uncomfortable….oh well, it was still a lovely evening, but next time we will sit inside on a proper chair!

To start we shared a dozen oysters, which were nice and fresh with a slightly sweet flavour. The main courses were all very good. I had a melt in your mouth Whole Lemon Sole, and the others had the Monkfish with cucumber & fennel salad; and the Sauté of Shellfish with tomato, garlic & orange, which was a good mix of king prawns, mussels, clams, calamari and such. A crisp, dry French white wine went well with our meals.

For dessert, we tried the Lemon Tart and the Fig, Honey & Thyme Tart. Being a summery evening, we ended the meal with a creamy Baileys on ice - cheers!
