Reviews for Bella Italia
I believe taste in food is such a personal thing, but I found a meal at this restaurant - over a busy Spring afternoon - to be quite pleasant. The service was quite prompt and attentive, although one of the waitresses managed to toss/drop one of the items in my brother-in-law's order onto the tile floor; she seemed to be trying to swirl his meal into its proper place.
Apart from this moment of extreme silliness, and the general clatter (one of the waiters accidentally crashed some used glasses onto the floor) the food itself was - in my humble view - tasty. I had one of the vegetarian pizzas; the other two people there had a pasta dish of some kind, and what looked like a goat's cheese salad with fries. They also downed some booze. We all had water.
The waiter was actually quite helpful, although the menu itself wasn't too fearsome. In fact on the Sunday there were several family groups, including a nest of chatty blonde hens seated at the adjacent table. Most of the patrons seemed to have opted for the upper level - in fact by the time we had all left, there was still only the solitary couple seated on the sub-street level deck.
All in all this is a great down to earth place to stuff yourself, with a warm and earthy decor and friendly staff. I particularly liked one of the blonde waitresses there.
