At Fuzzy’s Grub, we take great pride in the quality of the food that we serve. Starting with the raw ingredients, we source our prime meats from the best suppliers who can meet the demand from our busy shops and our fruit and vegetables are delivered from New Covent Garden market every morning.

Our chefs in our kitchens are hard at work from five in the morning preparing food for us to serve that very same day. We do not use any artificial flavourings, additives nor preservatives....just like we would cook at home!

Some say it's a City secret. Fuzzy's Grub between Bank and London Wall is so secretive, it isn't even on their own website. Trust me - walk up Coleman Street, in the block between Bank and London Wall, and there it is, hiding in one of the laneways running off Coleman Street.

I had high hopes of finding a replacement for my beloved Birley's Salt Beef. I had a roast beef with roast vegies at about 1:30pm one day. Quick and helpful service. Lovely fresh thick (i.e. 1 inch thick) slices of bread, a generous portion of sliced beef, and a good shake of roast potato/onion/something else looking suspiciously like aubergine.

Value was excellent - 4 and a bit quid in that area normally buys you a piece of prosciutto and cheap cheese on an focaccia. This was a brick of fresh bread and roasted goodies.

The meat was good, but not in the same league as Birleys. I had a bit of an issue with the vegies, they were a bit soggy and past it, but perhaps I struck a bad batch towards the end of the lunch run. In the interests of science and research, I'll give it another shot.

Good comfort food, generous serve, but the soggy roast vegies and Carvery-esque meat taste let it down on this occasion.

    It's a Roast Meal on a Bap!
    Current
Former city financier with antipodean origins saw a niche in the market and made city lunches more exciting and special.

    The premise is simple:

    1. Choose bap, bread, salad or roast meal.

    2. Choose your meat.

    3. Choose your trimmings (and they have ALL the trimmings).

Extremely generous portions and a pricetag that screams 'good value'.

    A roast dinner...In a bun?

Fuzzys is something of a City institution, and a fairly closely guarded secret. Hidden down Bouverie St, just off Fleet St, it's a tiny little shop selling lunchtime fare. They do pies, breakfasts, salads and soups, but the real reason everyone's there is for the roasts. Pick your meat (beef, pork, chicken or turkey), decide whether you want it in a sandwich, as a salad, or just as a dinner. Pick your accompaniments (roasties, yorkshires, stuffing, veg etc) and your condiments. Decide if you want a sausage on the side. Done! A lunch will set you back around 5-6, and they have the usual stock of cold drinks, cookies etc. The website has the full menu available, and it's worth choosing what you want before you go, because it gets busy and no-one likes a ditherer. If you have a large order, and work nearby they'll even deliver. What's not to like?
