The variety of produce at Borough Market will astound you - you can get everything from ostridge steaks (and eggs) to pots of cassoulet brought over from France. You'll find big bunches of herbs that put the little packets in supermarkets to shame, quality fish and meat, oils, cheeses and truffles. The downside is that the market does get busy and can be pricey, but nethertheless it's well worth a visit.

I used to work round the corner from Borough Market, and know that getting there early bags you the best! so I recommend running in BEFORE work and return smugly with your goodies to the office to plan what and how youre going to concoct dinner later that night! :-D

That's a brilliant idea mazphd. Do you know what time the stalls open up?
