  A food lover's paradise

  The variety of produce at Borough Market will astound you - you can get everything from ostridge steaks (and eggs) to pots of cassoulet brought over from France. You'll find big bunches of herbs that put the little packets in supermarkets to shame, quality fish and meat, oils, cheeses and truffles. The downside is that the market does get busy and can be pricey, but nethertheless it's well worth a visit.

  Market full of taste sensation!

  I love this place, I'd never really been until I started seeing my current girlfriend who lives only a few minutes away (lucky me).
  
  There are loads of stalls filled with friendly vendors who are quite happy to let you sample everything. Its quite nice to get there early on Saturday morning (it does get quite busy), stroll about and nibbling on all the lovely food on offer before deciding on your main course.
  
  It is however quite expensive, but I think its well worth it as much of the food is probably not found many other places. Where else in London can you get a nice plate of raclette to munch on while you walk about? Or a nice grilled chorizo sandwich? Or some fantastic bread (though be warned, once used to the bread it will make any loaf from a supermarket taste of nothing).
  
  I'm usually there once a week and I still love it, and its a great place to take family and friends. Only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the most stalls available on Sat.

  This historic market dates back to 43AD, though has only been trading on its current site for around 250 years. The market is filled with stalls selling a huge range of products - a mix of gourmet items and 'ordinary' items. There are a few different sections to the market - Crown Square, the Green Market, the Jubilee Market, and the shops and restaurants which surround the market.
  
  The market is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It is a very popular place and is always very crowded, especially on a Saturday. Friday lunch times are also very hectic, with all of the nearby office workers descending on the market to buy their lunch. If you are in the area on a Friday, queue up with the suits and buy your lunch - it may take a while, but it is worth the wait.
  
  Things you can buy/see at the market include:
  -the freshest fruit & vegetables
  -full range of meat and poultry, including whole (headless) deer caught that morning
  -bread, pastries and cakes
  -fresh pasta
  -cheese, cheese, cheese
  -hot meat sandwiches, filled baguettes, excellent coffee
  -excellent bacon and other deli products
  
  We have made it our mission to taste-test all of the different chocolate brownies for sale at the market - after extensive research I can report that the best ones actually come from a small shop on Stoney Street (which borders the market), called Konditor & Cook.
  
  Have also had some excellent fresh pasta from the markets, tasty bread and an amazing Treacle Pudding.
  
  Opening hours
  Thursdays: 11am to 5pm
  Fridays: 12pm to 6pm
  Saturdays 9am to 4pm

  I only come here for the massive tepanyaki scallops , brownies and deer meat burgers!Yummyyy
  The Scallops are so fresh and tasty !!It's deff a great place to pig out

  The Borough Market is London’s oldest food market. It opens its gates to the general public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On entering the market all of your senses are treated to the most amazing colours, tastes and smells oozing from the vast selection of fresh organic fish, meats, fruit, vegetables, breads, cheeses, cakes, coffee and so much more.<br />The traders at Borough Market have been carefully selected for their high quality produce and amazing passion for the food that they bring to the market from all around the world .<br /><br />Opening times: <br />Thursdays: 11am - 5pm<br />Fridays: 12pm - 6pm<br />Saturdays: 9am - 4pm<br />
