Reviews for Berry Bros & Rudd
totally agree.. don't be intimidated by any loud or flashy customers. just go in, tell them what you're after, no matter how modest your budget, and they'll sort you out with real enthusiasm and expertise. makes buying a pleasure not a chore.
BBR have been my wine broker for almost ten years now, and in that time, they have never put a foot wrong.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional and have always taken the time to make me feel valued as a customer (despite the paltry size of my wine budget and only really dabbling in wine) - and they have refreshingly old-fashioned customer service for their account holders.
On the only two occasions there have been errors made, they fixed them immediately, without question, and upgraded the wines in question (after having checked with me that it was OK to do so).
For well-known wines, they may not be the cheapest, but their selection and en primeur range is superb.
The St James's St shop is steeped in history and they run fantastic tasting events and dinners.
Highest possible recommendation.
Looks quite old school but don't be intimidated, everyone is very helpful, and they have a great range of wines from v cheap to (obviously) v expensive. I also don't know of a place in London that sells Lillet as cheap as they do!
a large selection of wine, my parents loves to come here and pick up one or two bottles once in a while
Agree 100% with the other reviews for Berry Bros.
This is the place to buy wine - awesome selection and very helpful/ patient staff. The experience alone of setting foot in this historic shop should be a rite of passage for every person who lives or visits London.
For a special treat try their very own Good Ordinary Claret or their Kings Ginger (a must have when out and about in the cold British countryside).
yes it is the best place to buy a bottle in town. Be sure to check out the spirit room, ask very nicely and you might get to sample a thing or two if you're a lucky puppy...
A great shop with a wide selection of wine.
The shop was founded in 1698.
Don't be scared to enter. The guys are friendly and helpful. You can get a bottle of house rose from 4.50GBP

It is worth enrolling in their "wine club"
if you are seeking to try out new things.
The shop is worth a visit in its own right
as it is one of the oldest retailers in London. Also, Texas had its legation close to here when it was an independent country.
