Reviews for The Tea House

A modest looking and unassuming frontage in between the shoe and fashion shops of Covent Garden’s Neal Street, the Tea House is easily missed and overlooked.

Once inside, the shop oozes ‘quality’ wherever you look. Many of the tea pots and gorgeous looking crockery come at a price, but if you are a tea pot collector you can eat your heart out.

Much more affordable are the many different blends of tea and the huge selection of flavoured teas, many if attractive tins or boxes (these make useful gifts – who doesn’t drink tea?).

This shop is also famous for its many specialist teas, including many different green teas and fine Indian teas. Although expensive when compared with the cheap & cheerful blends, these are some of the world’s finest teas and who can place a value on that? Worth every penny!

Forget the Opera House, forget CG Market, forget the buskers, the bars, the restaurants and pubs.
The Tea House is what Neal Street could (and should?) be famous for. One of the earlier start-ups after the old Market left Covent Garden.
The selection of high quality real teas is vast - a good range of Darjeelings and green teas and some delicious Oolongs and Silvertips.
Still, most of the customers seem to be attracted by the huge selection of smelly, fashionable 'fruit' teas. Others come for the unusual collection of tea pots, cups, mugs and accessories.
This is one shopping destination that should be on every visitor's 'must do' list for Covent Garden.
Owned and managed by CS, the Queen of Covent Garden. Long may it continue (and CS, of course).

First of all a few disclaimers, I am not a tea drinker (I love coffee), and I go the Tea House a few times a year to buy the tea for my mom when I go back to Paris.

I like this place a lot as most places in London where you get your tea is from chains like Whittards. As soon as you enter The Tea House you feel as though you've entered this little Asian microcosm. The tea they stock isn't exclusively Asian but they do carry a large amount of tea from this part of the world.

Most of their customers at the moment seem to be tourists, which is obvious due to their central location in Covent Garden. They do have a local group of recurrent customers who come to the Tea House due to the friendliness of their staff, knowledge, but of course their huge choice in tea.

If you are a tea aficionado, or not, and are looking for this unique tea or just for high quality tea you should definitely check out the Tea House.
