Reviews for Greensmiths
Greensmiths has been open for a little while now, but until recently I thought it was only a butcher (the side that faces Lower Marsh is full of meat). Since I had a bit more time to investigate properly today, I stopped in and realised that it's much more than just meat and is in fact a fully-stocked 'green' supermarket, with locally-sourced fresh produce, cheeses, pre-packed lunches, cakes, coffee, wine and much more besides, spread over three levels. I couldn't believe I hadn't stopped in earlier; it's like an Aladdin's cave in there.
I not only bought lunch (a three-bean salad and rice crackers, plus a freshly squeezed carrot juice), I ate outside on their charming little tables in the sunshine, and picked up some herbs and spices in the shop for good measure as well. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food fresh and tasty, and I'll certainly be going back - and recommending to others. A very cute pit stop to know about.
