Reviews for ShakeAway

I was drawn into this place by the huge cue, the great music and the smiling faces sipping their drinks as they left this new Islington milkshake shop.

This place is filled with stimulation for the kiddies. The decor is fun and definitely designed with the little ones in mind. It's all bright blue and yellow with lots of candy-coloured accents. But don't worry - the candies are all behind the counter so they can't reach!

I think it's actually a misnomer to simply call ShakeAway a milkshake shop because of the overwhelming number of choices for contents combinations and toppings. On the menu there are over 50 options and you're encouraged to create your own. So much so that they feature their favourite new concoction on a menu card displayed on the counter.

I opted for the "George". This is a taste sensation of reese peanut butter cups and chocolate ice cream topped with whipped cream. I omitted the whipped cream and substituted Maltesers. Wise decision. It was AMAZING! But VERY sweet. I'm a chocolate lover and struggled to get through it. But I did. (Of course.)

And it's so much fun to chose! The staff were helpful with suggestions based on the flavours I was considering and very happy to be mixing it up. A real pleasure. It made me feel like a kid again. They've even got dairy-free options that are widely advertised in the shop and they can cater to other dietary requirements if you let them know.

I left the shop having had a sip of my drink and found myself with the huge smile on my face that drew me in there in the first place.

I was offered a loyalty card as well and I can't wait to get my next stamp!

The only downside for some might be that it's a little crowded and the music is on the loud side but I like that kind of thing so it worked for me!
