Reviews for Ginger Pig
I implore you to look at the photo of the Scotch Egg.
Now, go and treat yourself. 'Tis stupendous.
An accidental butchers, the Ginger Pig started off as one mans passion for rare breed pigs, and has now become a series of shops, renowned for their quality produce and service.
I love the Ginger Pig, if only for their gorgeous sausage rolls and pies. They're enormous and moist encased in beautiful buttery pastry. I also indulge in the sausages and bacon frequently.
Overall, it can get really busy, but the service is always prompt. They know what they're doing and are always on hand with advice should you require it. It isn't the cheapest but it's good value for the quality of the produce.
I've been buying my meat from Ginger Pig at Borough Market for nearly ten years and it has always been utterly brilliant. The meat is of the finest quality, full of flavour and the butchers are almost invariably helpful and knowledgeable. If you need something specific or are unsure about what you want simply ask. They will endeavour to help you any way they can.
And I second the vote for great sausage rolls and scotch eggs - they are a frequent Saturday brunch after the market.
This is a fabulous place, top, quality meat with helpful, knowledgeable staff.
I'm lucky to have the GPig near the office and wouldn't go anywhere else for my meat.
These guys make the most sensational Scotch eggs and sausage rolls. Perfect for picnics or for a snack on the way back from lunch!
If we had an oven at work I'd be able to give a proper review of their pies. To date I have tried their steak and ale pie but had to have it cold which was a shame.
It's a real treat to just walk into this incredible butchers. Their range of game, gorgeous aged beef and meat is top class and by far the best in the area.
