The Tabard Theatre opened in 1985 and built a strong reputation for new writing, something which continues to this day. However, the theatre now hosts all kinds of live entertainment from experimental work to Shakespeare and enjoys the support of a loyal local audience and, thanks to its location, visitors from all over London.
Since 2005 the theatre has been undergoing regular renovation work with the aim of becoming on of London's best equipped and accommodating studio theatres for artists and audiences alike. The most significant phase of this renovation has just been completed and the theatre is about to embark on one of the most exciting periods in its twenty year history.
