Reviews for Miran Masala
This was the nearest 'Mirch Masala' restaurant near where I work. Six of us went there. Same BYOB and more or less same menu and price. So why have they changed the name from Mirch to MIRAN? Mirch means spice or chillies. So? The answer was in the food.
All the food was below average in taste. The fish massala was a piece of grilled fish in breadcrumbs. What masala? Butter chicken was atrocious, even lowest quality supermarket 'boil in a bag' could compete with it in taste. Saag gost, Methi gost were bland to the extent that we wondered whether the owner had run out of spices or a chef who knows how to cook these. Bland, bland, bland. Not a single one of us were impressed. It was a relief that the puddings were all the standard unpacked variety like all the other Mirch Masala outlets. So no problem there. Our caucasian friends were so disappointed that they remarked that if the cooking was for Hammersmithian palates, they would better stick to supermarket stuff which will give a better bang for the buck! No, don't get me wrong. None of us are spice bandits. Nearly all of us were 40+. BTW, this is on Hammersmith road, so parking could be a MAJOR problem.
