Opened in April 2008 'Austin' is ArtKandy's first gallery. Free WiFi, award winning coffees, fresh sandwiches and salads, delicious smoothies, AND a salvaged street art museum are all crammed into the coffee shop on the ground floor, while below there is a gallery/screening space, and to the rear a leafy courtyard and mural - Austin offers a lot for it's size!

One wall in the cafe area is set aside as a 'sale wall' where street artists can bring their work to be sold in the fortnightly auctions. Every 2nd Thursday from the 23rd of October will be 'Street Art Auction Night' with the public having the final chance to bid on the sale wall pieces - live.
In the near future Austin hopes to be open as a bar in the evenings as well ..of course with it's fab heated outdoor smoking garden!!!

I am a coffee snob, after years of drinking it I know my stuff and Starbucks doesn't do it for me. This little friendly place does great coffee and it's cheap. Once I'd ordered my coffee I noticed the cool art on the wall, street I think, and also a gallery downstairs of amazing illustration. The guy who runs it tells me they have new exhibitions every two weeks. Its a lovely combination. Definately beats starbucks

The coffee is amazing (not surprising as they use the same award winning beans at Flat Whites) and cheap.

I highly recommend stopping in to look at the art work and when the weathers better sit outside it so secluded.

Most importantly the staff are a happy bunch and will quite happy chat to you about the day.
