Possibly one of the finest examples of Victorian scientific and engineering design to be seen in London. Essentially, one very clever chap from Scotland built the first machine in the world that was capable of measuring stress, weight, pressure, tension ..etc..etc.. and it's here to be seen with associated ancillary equipment. All is explained by those with the knowledge on guided tours. I've done two visits and feel more like a little boy who has just found a new toy ! It was also used to test the structural integrity of some component parts that went into the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Tourists, best to check opening times as they vary through the year and according to interest. A visit here can easily be tied in with the nearby Tate Modern or Globe Theatre. However, I recommend looking up somewhere on Trusted Places for eateries as pubs in general tend to vary greatly in the Bankside area.

I passed by this place the other day, but had to rush. Seems like a geek's toy store. Will have to try it next time I'm around. Thanks.
