Rock what? Rock Cabaret = Rockabaret? Went to Rackabaret last night and had quite a unique evening. So what is Rockabaret, well as their website says: “DJ's will spin dramatic alternative music entwined with provocative soundscapes to create a danceable dream world , where rock gods can and Bretchian beauties are entertained by performance artists with Weimar era cabaret theatricality”. If this sounds impressive you should try going there.

The venue itself is great, as it is set in a beautiful kept Victorian ballroom. The lighting is subtle and the decorations superb. Yesterday night my flat mate and I, along with a few friends, got ourselves invited for this first life experience. Eclectic, is probably the best word to use to describe the people who go there. Each come in their unique way of displaying this burlesque era. People from all sorts of lives, and sexual orientation come along to create this wonderful rich atmosphere where everyone is friendly to each other, commenting on each others costumes, and in general having a great time…. especially if you happen to fall upon a group of attractive young Italian ladies on a hen night…. but that would have to be another story!

If you are tired of the same old West End clubs / bars and looking for a night with a difference you HAVE to try Rockabaret!!!
