Reviews for Sacred Cafe

Why have Italians not discovered the flat white? This is the best way possible to do coffee with milk - a shot of espresso topped with textured, not frothed, milk.
Friendy service from mainly Kiwi staff and cosy ambience especially in the basement. For something different try the lolly cake... crushed malt biscuits and marshmallows bound together with butter and condensed milk and rolled in dried coconut. (tastes better than it sounds). Another Kiwi invention apparently.

sacred is great. its seems only posh people have been reviewing it, I like the 'student'; feel. its comfortable. Plus english people do tend it sit with there coffees for too long and like there milk burnt. As a kiwi coffee conneisuier I'd say it was perfect. You are supposed to drink it right away and order another, not pick at your low fat diet banana cake and them complain when your skinny latte in a giant size is cold because the barista refuses to burn the milk. I love the flat whites. The brits don't seem to understand a starbucks size doesn't mean better or more. a small flatwhite has the same esspresso as your dumbn arse grande latte. Duh.

Sacred Café was stumbled upon purely be accident. Countless times I’ve walked past this place only to be given the impression of yet another contemporary caff with ‘tourist trap’ intentions. It was during one afternoon when loitering (don’t ask) near its front window that I noticed the ‘latte art’ (ferny pattern and whatnot) on one of the customers’ cuppa; eureka! flattie served here. I must also state that Sacred doesn’t quite have the same underground following as its coevals like the said Flat White or Fernandez & Wells.

This place is all female staffed. I find them feisty (which I don’t mind at all, at least you know where you stand with ‘them peeps’) but welcoming. The basement area where I ended up was like a chill out lounge with decent music gently filling the entire room. This is the sort of place that might make me feel out of sorts if I’m in my fifties, it’s unashamedly youngish at best.

Well here’s my summary of the food and beverage-

Flat White- Smallish in size and strong tasting; but not delicious or ‘rock me boat’ type.

Organic Carrot Cake- this has gotta be the most beautifully presented slice of cake in London. The mélange of a twist of orange, slice of kiwifruit and strawberry complimenting the cake was a wonderful sight. The cake tasted moist and rather delicious.

Long Black- needed to try this to support my deduction of the flat white. Again it was indeed strong tasting but lacking that coffee boldness and sourish undertones were noted. I’m beginning to suspect that the beans were not of the Monmouth or Union variety. Disappointing.

I may well come back here, but perhaps only for the cakes and tea instead.

Really great place to chill with an excellent flat white.

Good coffee, they know how to do make a proper coffee here but the decor reminds me of a budget student union. If you're in the area its worth a visit. Haven't tried the food but if it's as good as the coffee I'd be very happy.

Came here on a recommendation in my quest for a great coffee in the West End.
The latte I had was pretty good but milk was luke warm so didnt last long! Also, service was pretty stern faced. Only had a take out so can't comment on the ambience much but all in all if you're shopping in that area a pretty good place for a coffee.

This is a cute cafe in an ideal location to take a break from buzzing Carnaby Street.

I especially love the cosy couches down stairs.

Great little re-treat for a coffee / tea and cakey things or they do some good snacks (eg. mezze plate) too.

Not the cheapest on the block and I agree with the comment that the music can be a little over bearing... but I still go back.. and so far have not been disappointed.

This is one of many cafes around the Carnaby Street area. In terms of coffee and food, this is amongst the best. The Sausage Roll is a particular favorite of mine... although i do think it is over priced. The coffee is excellent, organic and fairly-traded. I'm also a big fan of the special teapots they serve tea in - very pretty.

It's downfall is the music - terrible pseudo-buddha-rap-world-house. why do they do this to us? Yes, i understand that the business idea is some kind of eastern-inspired haven to rejuvenate tired shoppers... but really...

Good for a quick sit down or take away, but staying in there for 40mins or more becomes exceedingly tiresome, despite the delightful teapots.

Just having a yummy slice of chocolate cake and a pot Rooibos tea. It's a few feet off of Carnaby Street. They have organic and fair trade coffee, free wifi for customers (ask for the code at the counter) and more food (besides just desserts). It's got some cozy tables upstairs and a larger downstairs area.
