Reviews for Italiano Coffee Co

It was my regular haunt back in the uni days, when I lived a few doors away in my halls of residence.
Of course, back then it was referred to as 'the £3 pizza place'. But of course, it couldn't stay that way forever, so now it's more like 'the £4 pizza place'. *gasp*

Years on and I will still happily pay this bright and honest restaurant/canteen a late evening visit, after a few drinks in the area.

You can't go wrong. If you want some quick, filling and tasty (when you're a little tipsy, it's all delicious anyway) grub, ICCo is the place to go.

They don't pretend to be something they're not. It's simple: pay your price (from £3.50 - £6ish), take a seat, wait for your name to be called, go and pick up your pizza, add oil and seasoning if desired, devour and go home.
Don't expect the freshest artichokes or the best flavours but do expect to leave smiling and with enough change left to do it all over again the next night! :)

Somehow in Central London, some places are allowed to charge nearly £10 for a pizza, which is really just glorified cheese on toast. Pizzas in this little venue cost between £3-£4 depending on your choice of toppings and they are big too! They are cooked to order in front of you and your name shouted out incoherently when they are done. You can eat in or take away for the same price. The tables and chairs are metal and although there are some individual tables, most people perch on high tables with tall stools, sharing the eating space and the various flavoured oils and dried chillis dotted around. Not the most amazing pizza I have ever had (can be a bit greasy for my liking) but for a cheap and quick lunch, with fresh ingrediants, you can't go far wrong. The last time I was in a place like this was America - and we could really do with more of these venues here.

This is a great pizzeria where you can eat original Italian style pizzas for only £3.5!
The place is always crowded so you usually end up sharing your table with others but the pizzas taste great and the prices are really low.

Saturday lunch at ICCo was a very pleasurable experience - their pizzas are quite good and even though the choice is limited to maybe 8-9 types, the most expensive one costs just £4.80.

The decor is reminiscent of a slightly dilapidated New York bistro with aluminium tables, tall chairs, tiles on the walls and cold light.

There's also a good if simple choice of sandwiches and desserts plus fresh papers to read while munching.

The most bizzare experience though was the toilet - located in the basement, at the back of what looked like staff quarters, to which you need to go through the food preparation area...

If you're looking for some very cheap pizzas at around the £3 - £4 mark then look no further than the Italiano Coffee Co. At the corner of Goodge Street and Charlotte Street you'll find it to be usually quite full with mostly students coming from what I can guess all across London.

The great thing is that the pizzas are prepared for you in usually just under 10 minutes and they aren't bad. Now this isn't your gourmet pizza but if you can recall the days of being a student and having a limited budget then a tasty pizza at £3 - £4 sounds great... doesn't it???
