Reviews for Cafe Renoir

Good place for a cup of Coffee and a chat. There are quiet, woody nooks in the back where you can escape the hubub of the main drag. The food on the main menu is a bit pricey - snacks and soups less so. For me, this a cake and coffee joint only. The pavement front is often full of smokers and puffers - giving the place a Continental air of liveliness. There's usually somewhere quieter inside.

One of Kentish Town's independent eateries the Renoir does a selection of light meals along with serving pretty good coffee. There is some external seating as well for the smokers amongst you. A bit different to the other cafes as they serve a variety of continental dishes, such as crepes for example. They do of course your typical English breakfast as well.

Went here in search of a Cali-style brunch on Saturday. Always knew I would be disappointed (US brunch standards are off the scale) but I did find somewhere local that did crepes and a decent pot of tea. Slightly over-priced I'd say (£8-9 all in) and the spinach, mushroom and cheese crepe was not exactly inspirational, but I'd probably go back. Good alternative to the greasy spoon.

Just by the Kentish Town station this cute French inspired café was a pleasant surprise. There is a front self-service area where a selection of sandwiches and salads are available and up a couple of stairs in the back a menu and table service is offered. I had the mozzarella and sun dried tomato toasted ciabatta, which was simple and tasty served in a basket. And Sokratis had a toasted BLT sandwich with a side of french fries, the portions were bigger than we expected.

It was busy and the service was quick, though I was a little disappointed with my macchiato finding it over extracted and a bit burnt. Next time I'll order a coffee off the board.

The outside seating will be lovely in the summer though there is plenty of room amongst the almost tacky but not offensive décor. I found it to be cute and charming running with theme of the French painter, and the food was an affordable delight.
