Reviews for The Deptford Project Cafe

This is a great little cafe hidden amongst the market.

Staff here are really sweet and are always up for fun conversation.

The toilet is an experience in itself!!!

Didnt try the cakes but will definitely re-visit again.

FAB concept - great tea!!!

I have just started working in the area and found this great little cafe. I went on Sunday, lunch time, it had a really lovely atmosphere, relaxed, very friendly and good food. Going by Nik's review, it seems like they've changed the tables round because they were very comfortable. They have just started a Saturday Market round the back of the train, arts, crafts, vintage clothes, food and music. Just what the area needs. I'll definitely be back for more.

Went to the Deptford Project for breakfast today - full english v good. Staff were friendly and the layout of the cafe was good. There is also a decked outside seating area. Good range of sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes.

I tried this place for the first time today. Excellent design, lovely outdoor space, and well-made coffee from sustainable sources. It's outrageously cheap for London (70p for a cup of tea).

And Deptford X art projects were installed around the carriage, which was perfect for a post-caffeination browse.

I had heard of this place a while back but only managed to visit it today...oh dear this has the potential to be a legendary venue in London. Firstly though, its a fantastic concept and location with fantastic food but it is totally let down by a bad layout, (i had to move everytime a waitress went past!!!) staff that are too busy eating their own lunch (in between serving!!!)to deliver the food and very unconscientious servers. I dont mean to be harsh but I really love Deptford and have been working and studying here for the past 7 years and was so excited about this and feel that with a little bit of thought and care this could be a real gem that we all could be very very proud of however as a first time visitor I found little that made me want top return again !!!! :((
The food and beverages were excellent though and will return only to see if any changes are made to make it a really memorable experience.
Would have got more stars if i didn't have to move everytime the waitress went past!!!!!
:)
