Bake-a-boo is a gorgeous little cake shop/cafe in West Hampstead (nearest tube Kilburn). Mill Lane is definitely moving up in the world, a greasy spoon ahs become a posh caf, there's a new organic shop and now Bake-a-boo. It's very cute, all shabby chic, I get the feeling they like Cath Kidston. They serve a variety of lactose free and gluten free cupcakes, and while they're not as impressive or tasty as Peyton & Byrne, they're very good considering. They serve afternoon tea with tea in gorgeous china teapots, both a normal one & a sensitive one for coeliacs and lactose intolerants. They also cater childrens parties.

It's in our area so we frequently pop in for take aways but the caf itself is gorgeous and I would recommend a visit.

I am giving it 4 stars because it's so hard to get good dairy free cupcakes and these guys have done it. As a lactose intolerant it's a real treat :-) I haven't actually eaten the savoury fare there though so these stars are purely for the tea, cupcakes and brownies.
