  Capoeira on the cheap

  As Alan said, this place is great. It's small, but the studio is well-equipped for everything you could need. But the best aspect is the people you meet here - all very eclectic, interesting and nothing like what you sometimes see at Holmes Place or LA Fitness. Highly recommended for a little joga.

  Wanna get fit, but don't want to pay loads of money to join a gym thats full of nobjockeys and plays cheese-trance music? Of course you do. Well you want to check out the Stockwell YMCA, which is probably the most underused healthy living centre in London - a scandal that unfortunately may lead to it closing in 2007 when its Lottery funding expires. There's a really nice fitness suite with all the machines you'd expect in an Fitness First or other place, but about 5% of the people. I've never in 2 years seen it approach full. It also has a fantastic dance studio, which we use for Capoeira Angola classes every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you're local to Stockwell I'd highly recommend getting yourself down there and gettin healthy.
