I stayed in the Hoxton hotel and saw something i had never seen before: a restaurant and bar within a hotel which were actually popular! I stayed on a Saturday night and this place was more packed than most of the local bars! The food is supposed to be excellent, I did not eat here however. The drinks were bog standard London prices. There was a heavy door presence, most likely because of the hotel guests coming in and out. This seems to be a cool place to go in this area. Full of trendies and the rich student type you so often find in London it wouldnt be hard to feel you were sticking out like a sore thumb if you had just tramped down from your hotel room for something from the reception shop though!

Awful awful bar. Overpriced drinks, posing clientele, terrible music. I had the misfortune of going here twice in two weeks. They also have stupid rules for smokers (can't take drinks into smoking area) - Not that I smoke but all my friends were smoking so I went outside to stand with them.. we all had to leave our drinks unattended. That's a drink spiking incident waiting to happen.

Update- February 2009
I went on Sat evening and the music was quite crap, maybe just a bad DJ. I also went there for lunch and I must say it was a different experience! The food was great! I had a very good burger with amazing sweet potato wedges. The bar tender was very nice to us.

I LIKE IT! didn't eat here but I did dance here like mad and had loads of fun!
Last time the smoking ban made me almost lose my friend... I went with him out for a cigarette and the bouncer didn't let me stand with him because it was only for smoking people... can you believe this ****%£@@@madness? anyway I still love you hoxton sq B&K
