Reviews for The Cove

My boyfriend showed me this small quirky pub after dinner in Covent Garden for drinks and it was instant love! They sell some of my favourite cornish ales, as discovered on a recent holiday. It can be quite crowded but that's because it's such a nice atmospheric little bar, emphasis there is on little! They have a balcony which is nice to sit out on if the weather is good. It's really just a shame that now smokers all migrate out there which isn't so fun for non smokers! It's not the cheapest place you'll ever find but it is certainly cosy and a nice place to relax, perhaps to meet friends, have a drink after work or just as a watering hole before going to a club. It's in the centre of covent garden market which is very convenient although I'm not sure I want to tell you exactly where it is or it may get even busier ;) It's worth a visit simply for its unusual nature, it is far more interesting than most pubs!

I enjoy drinking in this quirky Cornish pub with its wooden beams and low ceilings it is truly charming and a refreshing difference from the usual chains surrounding it. Its location above the West Cornwall Pasty company just adds to the charisma. On a lovely evening, it is great to sit outside with a drink and watch the world go about their business. In the hustle and bustle of London, it is great to escape here for a while and let the old world charm work its magic on you. Until you return to the bar for a top up and remember you’re in London, so it is London prices!

Well, here's one themed pub you're unlikely to see many more of - a Cornish Pirate/Shipwreck themed Pasty shop. There's a good selection of real Cornish ales, loads of crazy crap on the walls, and a lovely little verandah where you can sit out in the sun and watch the Covent Garden street entertainers down below. It's pretty tiny, and gets very busy (of course), but it's so charming and unique I can forgive it. What an odd place...
