no atmosphere
It's a typical Walkabout - the place is full of TV screens showing sport, and not much else.
If you want a drink with your mates, don't go here because yo can't see for moving images. There isn't much of note here, either in the customers or the bar itself.
I'm told the food is average, but I won't be going to eat there in a hurry.

Redeeming Feature
What my Norse friend here is missing out is that these places vary in goodness; admittedly they all languish between 0.1 stars and 2.3 stars but there are Walkabouts and there are Walkabouts. The Temple one for instance is well ventilated (essential for summer sport watching), keenly priced and most importantly of all has fricking LCD screens above the fricking urinals so you don't miss that Beckham freekick. I was as excited about this as Dr Evil finally getting his pimped-out sharks.
The Shepherds Bush Walkabout is truly a venue for the steely willed (or steaming drunk) especially at the weekend but having clambered across the carpet of sticking broken glass (seriously) to get to the bar (I was dripping with sweat by the time I made it), I met the Fijian under-21 rugby team and had an awesome night out. They don't go to the bar with an order, they go to the bar with all the spends they had been given by their coach (about 50 each) and say 'turn this into beer please' the beers are all piled at one end of the bar (there are no security issues when you are hanging with 20 Fijian rugby players- those beers just stay there and no one touches them - weird huh?).
Anyway you have to be in the mood but there is fun to be had in a boisterous, en masse kind of fashion at a walkabout.

Aussie sports bar & more
The Walkabout Inns, for the uninitiated, is a series of Australian themed bars. The one at Temple has numerous TV screens during the day, where you can watch whatever sports is going on at that moment in time. They serve, naturally, a variety of beers, and have a kitchen that fills your belly with basic bar fodder (nachos, chicken wings, potato wedges, etc). At night, the large open space in the middle of the bar is cleared of tables and stools, and it becomes a dancefloor. I have to say, the Walkabout tries to be too many things all at once, and thus doesn't really do anything at all particularly well. Best used as an emergency sporting event watching venue. Food middling. Beers are beers. Avoid night time dance action.
